Recycling of the Diamond-wire Saw Powder by Ni-catalyzed Nitridation to Prepare Si3N4

In this paper, the acceleration effect of nickel (Ni) on direct nitridation process diamond-wire saw powder (DWSP) was investigated. The DWSP doped with Ni additives were nitrided at different temperatures. To study mechanism accelerated nitridation, thermodynamics Si-O-N-Ni and processes analyzed by FactSage 7.2 single-crystal silicon blocks also instead DWSP. results revealed that decreased temperature which began to gain significant weight exhibited an excellent accelerating At 1300°C containing 2.0 wt% had been completely within 2 h, whereas without not yet. Based equivalent substitution experiment, it could be concluded presence promoted formation α-Si3N4 nanorods through facilitating generation SiO(g) destructing silica film surface lower temperature. Meanwhile, played important part in growth forming liquid Ni-Si alloy product.
